Don’t let the photo fool you. If you’ve seen me grabbing lunch around town or diving the metal bin at the recycling center, you know i’m usually covered head to toe in metal dust, soot, and a splattering of dirt. I have a passion for rusty metal – and by passion I mean I have a barnful – and for steel in all it’s states: from raw to highly polished to heavily patinated. I’m not your typical blacksmith. Blacksmiths make useful things, but not me; I prefer to bring metal to life, to showcase it’s beauty not as something we need – a hook or a handrail – but rather as something we might simply love: a piece of art that connects the materials of industry to our human world. All of my pieces are made from mild steel using forging, grinding and welding techniques
The items above are one-off pieces. Some have been sold, others have not. If you’re interested in something you see, please let me know and we can talk price. I may not have the exact piece you like, but I can make something very similar and equally as cool.
